WELCOME TO NATIONAL PU JAYANAGAR
HISTORY:
The National Pre-University College, Jayanagar is one of the twenty institutions being managed by the National Education Society (NES) of Karnataka. The NES of Karnataka was established in 1917 with nationalist ideals as its driving force. Although the college began with a strength of 110 students in the Pre-University course, now it has grown into a one of the leading institutions in the heart of the city with a strength of more than 1300 students and 70 faculty members.
The College offers various combinations in Science, Commerce and Humanities. The college has well furnished and spacious class rooms, well-equipped laboratories, and a library with the latest collection of journals, profound books on various subjects and a vast sports field.
The institution aims at nurturing cultural activities for which the Bangalore Lalithakala Parishath was established. A well maintained auditorium, H.N.Kalakshetra is in place to conduct all the cultural activities. Under the Bangalore Lalitha kala Parishath, the college organizes cultural programmes in Dance, Music and Dramatics by eminent artists on every Friday of second and third week of the month. Since 1992, about 869 Cultural Programmes have been organized. Music competitions and Intersection Drama Competitions are organized to nurture artistic talent of the students in classical music and dramatics to help the students not only to have all round personality development but also to provide a platform for the students to improve their skills and interact with the performing artists.
B.V. Jagadeesh Science Centre, Bangalore's complex for museum, library, research and education was established by the National Education Society of Karnataka [NES] in 2001 not only to popularise science but also to stimulate curiosity and inspire science learning among the students because we value science as an indispensable tool for understanding our world and enriching people's lives.
The college is proud to have a large number of alumni who are well established in various fields such as IT, BT, Medicine and Basic Sciences. Many students of the college are also serving as IAS and IPS officers. Quite a good number of students are celebrities in theatre and in sports.
The college has a team of well qualified, experienced, competent and dedicated faculty members well supported by the management. The faculty encourages and inspires the students to put in their best to excel in their field of interest. The faculty strives hard to train the students to reach greater heights not only academically but also for their holistic development inculcating values of life. The college aspires to become a centre of excellence of learning.

It gives me immense pleasure to address you as the principal of this prestigious institution in our state Karnataka. Our college was established in the year 1965 with a vision to lay emphasis on maintaining high standards of education at an affordable cost. We not only maintain high academic standards but allow the students to blossom into wonderful individuals by training them, in music, drama, lecturers, debates and various other co-curricular activates all through the year. Our motto is to prepare the students to achieve high standard sin the fields they choose, with exemplary courage and commitment to the duty, there by evolve as good worthy citizens of the country serving society.

We have a three storied building which house the "Science Center". This center conducts science activates, lectures, exhibitions etc. throughout the year. We have a big auditorium called H N Kalakshetra with about 600 seating capacity. Where dance, drama & music programmes will be conducted throughout the year.

Our dedicated team of faculty, strive hard to provide knowledge & skills to the students that would help them emerge as competent Persons. We have spacious classrooms, well equipped labs and big library with 50000 books, sprawling Playground & gym facility.
